postal service jr.

man, ben gibbard must be kicking himself right now for not copyrighting his own voice.

finally got around to checking out the much-buzzed about Owl City, and i’m really a fan, but it took me a little while to get over the fact that this guy adam young sounds like he sat in his room listening to Death Cab and Postal Service for hours, trying to exactly mimic the mildly affected way in which ben gibbard sings.

but once past that, he’s really a slightly catchier, slightly cheesier postal service, which is totally fun.  his song “hot air balloon” is kinda like postal service plus “hakuna matata."  i think i mean that in a good way.

This commercial series is so classic that “Nut & Honey” is still in my lexicon as a common response to “What’s up?"  That’s maybe a little pathetic, actually.

here’s my episode of mercy!

i watched with katie, who made an amazing tilapia/spinach/wild rice dinner and totally calmed me down as i was freaking my balls off (episode reference unintended) right as the episode began.  once i saw a couple of my scenes and decided they weren’t horrible, i felt much better.  but man, very surreal to feel nervous for a performance that already happened.

the episode i'm in.

i bolded myself.

Episode 105: You Lost Me With the Cinder Block

After Veronica announces she’s trying to get pregnant, to her surprise a pregnant woman and her unborn child need her help after a horrible car crash. Meanwhile, Dr. Harris, calls a meeting to determine Veronica’s future at Mercy. Sonia helps a sleepwalking patient and her relationship with Valentino deepens, while Chloe goes on an ambulance and makes a discovery that will change Dr. Harris life forever.

i’m really nervous to watch.  i keep having this bad daydream where i go to watch the episode and they’ve re-cast the role without telling me.  that would be a funny story, though.  kinda.

Board Game: The Movie

The game Battleship is about to become a movie directed by Peter Berg.   I can’t wait for the intense battle scene where they’re yelling at each other about what they’ve sunk.

And:

“Aside from "Battleship” and “Stretch Armstrong,” U is separately developing “Clue” with Gore Verbinski, “Monopoly” with Ridley Scott, “Candyland” with director Kevin Lima, and “Ouija” with Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes.“

Some things:

1. Clue as a movie?  Yeah, right!

2. So glad Michael Bay’s involved with the Ouija movie; I’d hate to see it handled by some hack who couldn’t properly execute the necessary psychic explosions.

3. Russell Crowe is gonna be so awesome as the Monopoly Guy.

Space Party!

So I’m in these fun new webisodes that take place in Outer Space.  Which is where we shot it.

They’re premiering tonight at a party in Bushwick that the Whole World is invited to.  That means you!  Check out the info linked above.
